Practically
everyone is a photographer, yet some photos stand out! Why? There is
landscape photography and people photographs of all sorts: people
photos,
nature, photos of children, street scenes, war photos, pictures of
famines, earthquakes, people dead and dying.
Women art photos, fine art
models all contribute to the spectacle photography is: a human record
and celebration of life. There are millions of photos showing objects
or persons but only a few of them are intensely arresting. These are
what I have chosen to call 'Moveable Visions'. Since they include the
viewer in the experience the photo itself has become, viewers realizes
their own uniqueness is a critical element of what they see!
Robert
Capa, who took the unforgettable photos of the allies landing in
Normandy, when someone asked him what the secret of photography is
replied, "It is to like people and to let them know it."
Whether
a photo is intimate, news, a sports event, a family portrait, the photo
of a celebrity, or one of many in a fine art photo gallery the ones
that touch us are human in form and in the intention that shapes them:
whatever the subject of the photo happens to be, the ones we
instinctively respond to include the viewer! This is no accident
although it all happens so casually it seems to be! Viewers feel at
home in photos the photographer meant to include them: moveable
visions, then, are akin to magic!
